We were honoured and humbled to be part of a wonderful charity evening on the 20th of May this year. Very sadly a lovely lady called Libby died last year, aged just 35, and when we were contacted to ask if we could provide our gin bar for a fundraising ball in Libby’s memory we didn’t hesitate to get involved. Libby was a keen equestrian so our converted horse trailer gin bar seemed like the perfect fit for the event. The event took place in the garden of Libby’s family home and brought together the community to honour her wish to raise money for three local charities: St Peter’s Hospice, Above & Beyond and Little Princess Trust.
We arrived to be greeted by Libby’s lovely parents, and were blown away with the organisation they must have put into the event. A huge marquee had been erected in their grounds and it had been beautifully decorated, ready to seat the 350 guests arriving that evening. There was a mountain of prizes that had been donated by local businesses for a silent auction and a tombola – and what a selection of prizes, there was everything from riding socks to a hot air balloon ride and tickets to a meet and greet with Robbie Williams!
The guests began arriving from 7pm, all dressed up for the occasion. It was very clear Libby was extremely well loved and admired by family, friends and those in the local community with the 350 tickets sold out. Guests were very excited to see our gin bar and soon got involved! Guests enjoyed a three course meal that had been provided by local caters, followed by a selection of live musicians. Guests got thoroughly stuck in raising money for the fantastic causes and celebrating Libby. We donated 20% of takings to the cause, which raised an AMAZING £42k on the night. It was certainly a special occasion and one we will remember for a long time.
